Computer memory is measured in kilobytes and megabytes and even gigabytes. These measurements represent the amount of information a computer can process and store. On the other hand,
internet connection speed is measured in terms of bandwidth or the capacity of the
internet connection to download or upload data given a certain period of time.
The
computer's bandwidth is the measurement of the amount of data that can be transferred over a network. It is usually expressed in terms of bits per second (bps), kilobits per second. Thus, a 28.8 modem can deliver 28,800 bits per second and in some higher capacity like the T1 line, the bandwidth is measured in terms of million bits per second (Mbps).
