The Internet Explorer is the most widely used internet browser for all Microsoft Windows operating system users. Perhaps it is because the Internet Explorer, or IE, is included as part of the Microsoft
Windows operating system since the introduction of Windows 95. The IE was developed for other operating systems in the past such as: Internet Explorer for Mac and Internet Explorer for Linux but the development of these versions have been stopped.
The early commercial web browser,
Spyglass Mosaic, was used as the template for the Windows Internet Explorer. When the Internet Explorer 3 was released in August 1996, it was the first web browser to have CSS support and could handle PICS system for content metadata. The Windows IE is also equipped with tools to protect your privacy. You can modify the level of security in different areas of the web to help you secure your system from unwanted intrusion. The browser also comes with numerous bars which provide
surfing flexibility. The image toolbar allows you to manage the pictures from your webpage as well as your document folder. These are just a few of the IE’s features, no wonder it is the most widely-used browser today.
