If you are in a rural or remote area, and
DSL and Cable modems are not available in the town, there is still a way to connect to the internet. You can use a satellite broadband for a fast Internet access. This broadband technology is using a radio-communications through a satellite for Internet connection.
The Satellite broadband has 2 types: the "one-way" and "two-way" broadband connections. In one-way connection, satellite is used to
download data; and dial-up link is utilized to upload data. In contrast, in the two-way connection, the download and upload of data is through the satellite. The two-way satellite is best to use if there is a need to upload a large amount of data. But, for a moderate Internet user, one-way connection is better because it is more dependable and cheaper than the two-way connection.
Although there are some benefits in the
satellite broadband, however, there are some disadvantages. The cost, the latency, keeping up the dial-up modem for one-way user, and the weather are the usual problems that you might encounter. Yet, they are still manageable.
